Summer Camp
The Cry Of The African Child offers a free summer program from August to September of every year for primary school students in Bekwai (currently). The goal of COTAC every year is to provide the children at our camp with quality education that will expand their knowledge and prepare them for the upcoming year. To ensure that the children are getting the quality education they deserve, we make sure our teachers are properly trained and are equipped with the materials needed to play their part. COTAC hopes to establish summer camps in Brong Ahafo Region soon.
Be My Santa
Be My Santa is an event that hosted by COTAC every year from November to the 24th of December. During this period, COTAC collects charitable donations in forms of food, clothes, money, etc and donates it to orphanage(s) in Bekwai. Willing participants can ask to be reminded for donations later during this period and are encourage to do so if they will forget. People who have never participated are encouraged to participate each year, because of the difference their contributions make for the people at the orphanages.
Educational Seminars
COTAC tours neighboring towns and cities and provide free educational seminars for both parents and students in hopes of encouraging the children to stay in school and educating the parents on the importance of education and how necessary it is for the futures of their children. Students are also provided with career advice. Students are encouraged to choose careers in the STEM/STEAM field. Uninterested students are also urged to the pursue the careers of their choice. Seminars will be offered at over 80 schools in the Brong Ahafo region and Bekwai in 2015. Seminars and Tours are offered at different dates every year.
